PTC CoCreate's powerful "Explicit Modeling" technology has a long history behind. This technology was firstly introduced to the CAD world from Hewlett-Packard at the end of 1980's. When HP announced this technology in 1988 with the first version of CoCreate Modeling (then the name was HP PE/ SolidDesigner, PE was standing for Precision Engineering and not for the Personal Edition), it was a revolutionary concept in comparision to the mainstream history-based parametric modeling approach.
